February 2008 Metchosin Muse:

Metchosin Council has now joined East Sooke in deciding to proceed to Phase Two of the Amalgamation study to ascertain the facts and costs before both parties go to a referendum probably in June of this year. Funding for the Phase Two ($30,000) for the Restrucutre Study and $25,000 for the Vote Process) has now been approved by the Minister for Community Services, Ida Chong. Over the next few months the Muse will be bringing its readers background information on East Sooke—its history, people, present governance, etc.
